How do you say thank you to all the people that have helped you along the way to become who are you? I’m sure we’d all love to compensate these people in monetary avenues, but the fact of the matter is that way too many people played a part in molding me into who I am today that I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to show my appreciation. Is a simple “thank you” good enough? I honestly don’t think so.
I feel like it’s our responsibility to pay it forward. For 99% of us, everyone who helped us along our path to happiness and success did it because they wanted to see us succeed. There might be selfish reasons within that (some might help expecting something in return), but we all have a little greed in us. Our friends’ gain is indirectly our gain as well, and there’s nothing wrong with that. We are assets to our friends, family, and mentors; and what they invest in us should rightfully be returned to them tenfold. What I believe is that the way we show gratitude for those who paved the way is by passing it along and helping the next generation continue on that same path.
